Visiting the Cologne Kranhaus Süd
Last year I asked the members of the Cologne/Duesseldorf group for their feedback and their preferences for future events. One of the multiple ideas was to have more "pure" networking events where we have time to talk and getting to know each other. Our first networking event was a great success. The visit of the Excellent Business Center office in the Kranhaus Süd which offered a wonderful view over Cologne and the Cologne harbour was short but impressing. The NH Cologne City Hotel organised a delicious reception in the hotel bar. The participants felt very welcome and stayed till late in the evening. Thanks to our sponsors for this opportunity.

Round Table - Networking Event Sekada, belonging to our Corporate Member VNR Verlag für die Deutsche Wirtschaft, will organise this networking event for management assistants and secretaries. Different teams will meet at several "round tables" to discuss all kind of job-related issues. Participants will get useful input from experts and meet with other management assistants. EUMA will again be cooperation partner of this event.

Fair "Career@Office" at Novotel/Stadthalle Neuss
Career@office in NeussThe second career@office took place on 4 November 2010 in Neuss and was really sucessful. Many visitors were attracted by the large-scale programme. The organisers offered to some of the exhibitors the possibility to present themselves with a short talk during the fair. Ms. Balzer and Ms. Reich used this opportunity to introduce our network.

Transform negative emotions into positive changes
EUMA Networking Group Cologne & Duesseldorf was pleased to welcome a large attendance of members and guests to the presentation: “How to train yourself to transform negative emotions into positive changes” at The New Yorker hotel in Cologne. The service at the hotel was fantastic and very obliging. Thanks to the warm weather in the evening, we were able to enjoy a dinner buffet on the patio in a very relaxed "after work" atmosphere. Our speaker Heiko Schwardtmann introduced the topic of his workshop after the refreshments had been served. The participants actively took part in the workshop and were pleased that the speaker was able to explain in a simple way how to train oneself using a tangible method which avoided being too scientific. He was also able to easily answer our numerous questions. Members and guests then enjoyed a relaxing guided tour of the hotel to round off this interesting and informative evening.

Training Day "Intercultural Competence" and national AGM in Munich
The National Groups of EUMA Germany, Spain and Austria were pleased to wecome their members and guests, as well as members from EUMA France and Belgium, to their joint spring training „Sharing Worlds – Intercultural Competence, your key to success“ in the Munich Maritim Hotel. Our trainer Gesa Krämer provided all the participants with helpful instructions for a quick „knowledge of cultures“ in order to amplify their intercultural competence!
